To join the 5th Rangers "E" Coy Living History Organization please follow the steps below:

1. Contact First Sgt. Burgess by e-mail, the form below or on our forums.
2. Upon commanders approval pay TSG dues.
3. Aquire minimum needed equipment for impression.
4. Attend specified number of events.

Upon your first event date you are on probation for 1 year and your rank within the group is that of private. Here is what that means:
  • 1 year probation from your first event attended as a 5th Ranger.
  • Privates must attend 4 events during their first year, at least one tactical and one public. The other two are the recruits choice.
  • Must have basic uniform impression by end of first year.
  • Privates are not permitted the use of a scroll patch during first year.
  • After the first year is completed, the active members will vote on the status of the recruit. Recruits may be asked to leave the unit, continue on probation, or given active status.
  • Once active status is achieved, recruits will be promoted to the rank of PFC and permitted to wear the scroll patch on uniforms.
  • All new recruits must join the TSG.
  • Unit dues of $10 per year are due at the first unit meeting of the year (Lowell event in April/May) they can be mailed in if you are unable to attend.

Minimum Required Equipment:
This is the basic equipment you must have by the end of your first year:

  • M1 helmet w/liner and orange diamond with 5 on the back
  • M1937 wool pants (mustard) with open faced buckle, belt
  • wool shirt with diamond patch
  • M41 jacket w/diamond patch
  • Brown boots (such as jump boots or service shoes w/leggings)
  • cartridge belt; canteen, cup, cover; first aid pouch; meat can w/silverware
  • M1928 haversack w/meat can pouch
  • M1 Garand or American Weapon of your choice
  • Overseas hat with light blue piping
